Breast Lifting

It is important that the breasts that complement the aesthetic vision of the female body are vertical, of ideal size and symmetrical. Pregnancy, lactation, gravity, frequent weight gain, genetic factors, menopause and aging lead to a decrease in breast volume and a loosening of the ligaments connecting the breast tissue to the anterior chest wall. This results in sagging skin of the breasts and nipples.

In normal cases, the nipple remains above the bend line at the bottom of the nozzle. However, over time, the nipple begins to descend into the breasts, which lose their elasticity and tissue volume. In this case, the most effective and permanent solution is breast surgery. Breast lift is a reshaping, which gives perfect fullness and stiffening to breasts that have lost their volume and shape.

Before Breast Lifting Surgery

Your doctor will perform a thorough physical examination before breast surgery, which can be applied to all women after age 18-20, once breast development is complete. The degree of breast sagging and the technique to be applied are determined in this process. Ultrasound and mammography are performed in patients with a family history of breast cancer, people with risk factors for cancer, and patients over 40 years old. Thus, it is studied in detail if there are any problems.

You should pay attention to some points before the surgery; tell your doctor if you are taking any medications and ask if there is anything you should not eat and drink 5-6 hours before the operation. A week before the operation, painkillers, herbal supplements, vitamins and anti-bleeding medications, such as aspirin, should be avoided.

Women over the age of 40 should undergo breast screening by mammography or ultrasound. If you smoke and drink alcohol, you should stop smoking and drinking 1 week before surgery to improve the healing rate. By following your doctor’s advice, you can easily go through the operation process and the post-operation period by increasing the healing speed.

Breast lift surgery process

Under general anesthesia, the breast lift operation lasts approximately 2 to 3 hours and is performed in the operating room. During the operation, the collapsed breast tissue is reshaped, excess skin is removed, and the nipple is brought to where it should be. The surgical technique varies depending on the degree of breast sagging. However, regardless of the technique used, there is no trace left on the breast. Although the marks are very visible and red in the first months, they fade in the following months and become less visible.

The silicone prosthesis is applied to patients who have slight sagging and slight breast volume during the breast lift operation. Breast reduction is also performed in patients with excessive breast sagging and volume. The silicone prosthesis applies to patients who have both breast volume problem and sagging.
